Brian Hobson
Transplant Type: Heart
What if you were living on borrowed time?
Brian Hobson has been given a second chance at life. In 2013, he was diagnosed with cardiomegaly and had regurgitation and underwent open heart surgery. It is believed a virus caused this dysfunction. He began to experience worrisome heart-related symptoms again in December 2020. After multiple doctor and emergency room visits, doctors said a heart transplant was critical for his survival. Luckily, after only being listed for one week, he received his heart transplant on February 18, 2021!
Despite his recent health obstacles, Brian is grateful to have a loving and supportive family. His girlfriend, step-daughter, and son have been by his side every step of the way. Brian looks forward to fully recovering from his transplant so that he can be the active and loving father and boyfriend he longs to be, but right now, he needs your help.
Unfortunately, Brian’s new life comes at a very high price.
Even though Brian’s surgery has already taken place, he still faces significant medical expenses related to the surgery. He will continue to need a lifetime of follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications, which are as critical to his survival as the transplant itself. At this time in his transplant journey, Brian needs help to afford the insurance premium and expensive prescriptions needed to keep his heart healthy since he is not able to work and doesn't have an income coming in
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Brian.
If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Florida Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Brian Hobson” in the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
