On Sunday, May 1st I will be riding over 40 miles to help the Intense Intestines Foundation and those with inflammatory bowel diseases.

$1,000 goal

As many of you know, Crohn's disease has become a big part of my life.  My boyfriend, Brian, was diagnosed when he was 11 years old with Crohn's disease.  He battled for many years and ultimately made the decision to get an ostomy.  The ostomy has, in many ways, saved his life and allowed him to do amazing things, such as completing a half ironman last year (he's a little nuts sometimes).

Brian also started the Intense Intestines Foundation to help those with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and ostomies.  He's done so much to help members of the IBD community and the foundation has become a huge part of my life.

This year, I am going to be riding in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour for the Intense Intestines Foundation to raise money to help in their mission to provide aid to those with Crohn's, colitis, and ostomies.  It's going to be an interesting day for me (I haven't spent much time on a bike since I was a teenager), but I am excited to raise money and give back for a cause that is important and personal to me.
