Recovering at the Adoption Center

8.23.2021 -- Sasha gave us quite the scare! Just hours after her spay surgery, she had to be rushed back to the vet for an emergency surgery to repair her ruptured her sutures.

There's a reason doctors tell you to take it easy after surgery. Your body needs time to recover! Sasha hadn't gotten that memo. But since her emergency ordeal, she's been on her very best behavior. She is taking it easy and listening to her body, wearing her cone and getting plenty of rest at our Adoption Center.

We're grateful to see Sasha recovering, but we still have her bill to pay! We need around $900 to meet her goal. Can you help?

Sasha had a routine spay surgery last week. She was sent home and seemed to be recovering well. That is, until Sunday morning, when we noticed her incision was not only bleeding--something was coming out of it! We immediately wrapped Sasha up, and got her to an emergency vet to assess the damage.

There's a reason doctors tell you to take it easy after surgery--your body needs time to rest and heal, after going through such intense trauma! No matter how routine the procedure, surgery is a big deal. Bodies need time to recover.

Unfortunately, Sasha missed the memo. Despite being on crate rest and wearing an e-collar, she managed to re-open her incision. Thanks to our quick response, her vet was able to get everything back to where it should be. Sasha is recovering (again) back at the Adoption Center, and we're keeping an extra close eye on her to make sure she doesn't get overexcited and cause herself any more problems.
