Old Dog Going Blind

Piro is going blind. Without treatment, he will lose his eyesight entirely. But his vets tell us there is something we can do to help.

Homeward Trails rescued Piro from a shabby shelter in Puerto Rico, where he'd been abandoned by his owners due to his looks and his age. When he arrived at our Adoption Center, his coat was dirty. His skin had lesions and there were patches of fur missing. With the support of the Homeward Trails team and his incredible foster, Piro is finally starting to heal. But his eyesight continues to rapidly decline.

We are doing everything we can to give Piro the life he always deserved! There is a surgery available to save his sight, but it comes with a big price tag.
