Stitches are out!

Update posted 4 years ago

Jack went to the vet on Friday for his post-surgery follow up and got his stitches out! His vets are very happy with his recovery so far. He does have some patchy hair loss, due to his lowered immune system. He will be on a special diet for the next 6 months. However, with some careful monitoring to make sure he doesn't get into any more trouble, he should make a full recovery!

In the words of his vet, Jack is "lucky, lucky, lucky to be ALIVE!"

Emergency surgery is always expensive. Add a hospitalization onto that, and the only gets higher. While we are glad to see Jack doing so well, the bill is due and we really, REALLY need your support to meet his goal.

Jack is going in for emergency surgery! He has an obstruction that needs to be removed immediately if he has any chance of making it.  If he makes it through the surgery, he will need to be hospitalized for several days to ensure he is recovering well.

This poor puppy is just 3 months old. He came to us from a shelter in rural Virginia, underweight and malnourished. He began vomiting, unable to keep anything down. That's when we took him to the vet for an x-ray and ultrasound.

The cards are stacked against Jack. It's a tricky surgery and a long recovery. And he is so young. This is his first Christmas. It should be a time for joy and excitement! For cuddles and extra treats. Instead, he is fighting to survive.

Emergencies are always expensive, especially when there is surgery and hospitalization involved. And over a holiday, too!

We know this is a huge ask. But we want puppy Jack to see the New Year and live to enjoy all the Christmases yet to come. To make that wish come true, he will need all the support we can give him.
