Surrendered When His Owner Went to the Hospital

Poor Major's life has been turned upside down. At only 9 months old, this beagle/dachshund mix went from living with an owner he loved to a cold cage in a rural West Virginia shelter. Major's owner had to go to the hospital and could no longer care for him, so he was sadly left behind at the shelter. Major is so confused. Why is he away from the only family he knows, and why is he in such a scary and lonely place? Major is just a puppy and needs socialization and love. The isolation can be quite depressing and Major needs to get out of the shelter as soon as possible so he can continue to grow and thrive.
