Hurricane Matthew left over 100 cats and dogs without food or proper shelter. Please help!

$2,000 goal

Hurricane Matthew wrecked havoc on the Save Our Souls shelter, leaving over 100 dogs and cats without a warm, dry place to stay. The food and supplies shed was also destroyed and everything is now soaking wet.  We are in dire need to replace the dog and cat food, kitty litter, kennels, and tarps as soon as possible. They are working day and night to re-build the fences and kennels, dry off, clean out, and sanitize the living quarters, and make the place livable again.

Unfortunately, Claxton, Georgia does not have any other alternatives for unwanted animals, as there is no humane society or animal control in the county. SOS is run only by a husband and wife who work tirelessly to give these fur babies a comfortable place to live while waiting to be adopted.  The people of Claxton are forever asking for SOS to take in unwanted litters and strays but almost never offer to help caring for the animals they drop over the fence in the front yard.  If you can not offer physical support, financial support would be greatly appreciated.

The ultimate, long term goal is to raise enough money to build a more stable shelter for the animals awaiting their forever homes.  In the meantime, let's get them clean, dry, and with full bellies to sleep off the trauma of going through a category 3 hurricane in outdoor kennels.
