In 2024 I was first looking at my Defenders of Wildlife calendar in October when it said there were less than 20, and I mean 20(!) red wolves left in the wild… so I decided to do something about it!
But the school year was pretty busy. So now that it is summer, I am starting my work on Saving the Red Wolves by collecting donations for the Red Wolf Coalition and making a website to share information about their cause!
A 9 year old with a plan!
The Red Wolf Coalition is making a difference in the lives of the wild wolves left in Eastern North Carolina. The AZA SAFE program is working hard to increase the reproduction of red wolves in captivity to one-day reintroduce the wolves to Eastern NC.
I just finished 4th grade in North Carolina and am a Girl Scout Junior in North Carolina Coastal Pines Troop 2331! I enjoy learning about animals and how to protect them from humans. I especially love lemurs and canines- both can be found at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, NC. I also enjoy art - especially clay and drawing.
