MOW Yolo Executive Director Joy Cohan packs meals for delivery to seniors in our Woodland kitchen.“Home for the holidays” are words that may remind us of time spent with grandparents and other elders, often enjoying delicious, festive meals together. Sadly, too many grandparents and other seniors in our community don’t have family nearby with whom to celebrate. And, the struggles to stay nourished on a routine basis are magnified during the holidays.
That's why Meals on Wheels Yolo County has launched the 2nd annual “Season for Seniors” Holiday Meal Campaign to ensure the holiday nutrition and companionship that your most seasoned neighbors deserve. Your campaign gift of $250 means another Yolo County senior is assured hot, healthy meals cheerfully and continuously delivered from Thanksgiving through Christmas, and gifts of any size advance MOW Yolo’s capacity to provide more meals to more seniors, more nutritiously, and more equitably. Your commitment adds light to our $100,000 campaign goal, delivering holiday food and friendship to at least 1,000 local seniors over the coming months.
