Support science for the curious!

$5,000 goal

Illinois Science Council (ISC) is an independent* nonprofit that creates fun events for adults in all areas of science. Our motto, "Science for the curious, science for everyone!" caught my interest in March 2016, and I have been hooked ever since! ISC has been a great way for me to share my love of science with others, has allowed me to learn about new areas of science, and has connected me with people also eager to understand the interesting world around us.

Eleven years ago, we realized that Chicago had great programming for arts and culture for adults and wonderful STEM programming for children, but very little programming for adults interested to learn about science in a fun and casual way. Illinois Science Council was launched to fill that gap. Every day, you can encounter reasons why it’s important for everyone to have a good understanding and appreciation for science. Whether you want to be a smarter consumer, or want to help your kids with homework, or make sense of science stories in the news, ISC is here providing science content that is accessible to anyone, covering topics that range from the microbiome to the cosmos.

Your donation enables our year-round schedule of engaging, low-cost or free science events. We publish a science blog, host fun runs and adult science festivals, promote science documentaries with panel discussions, host tours of national labs, and much more. You can check out all of our past events here. Please consider supporting ISC today!

The ISC Associates' Board aims to raise $5,000 by December 31, and I am striving to raise $200 of that. Please consider supporting my efforts to spread science!

* ISC receives no funding from the State of Illinois or City of Chicago. ALL of our funding comes from the generosity of donors like you.
