She Votes IL Fundraiser-Women’s Refugee Commission

We at She Votes Illinois, like the rest of the world, have been monitoring the horrific human rights crisis happening at our Southern US border regarding the separation of children from their immigrant parents. We cannot stand by. We must act now and they need your help.

Women’s Refugee Commission has been tirelessly working on behalf of migrant and refugee children and families at the United States border. Supporting their efforts will allow us and YOU to make an impact. WRC is a trusted organization and takes action on behalf of the values we share.

WRC’s Migrant Rights and Justice team has been working around the clock monitoring conditions in detention centers, speaking directly with separated and detained parents and children, documenting human rights violations of asylum-seeking women and their children at the U.S. border, identifying gaps in protections and services in humanitarian response, making policy recommendations, and advocating for solutions.

As of July 14,  it was reported  that 2,551 immigrant children between 5 and 17 had yet to be reunited with their families. Our goal is to raise an amount of money that reflects that. Your donations will go directly to WRC and will support WRC’s advocacy efforts to help end family separation. Please make a donation to help WRC’s work at the border—ending family separation for good, halting family detention, and proposing and advocating for humane and effective policies to ensure compliance with U.S. law.
