Sixpence

The Sixpence Program supports families and children in Lexington, focusing on early childhood education for those who need it most. Our goal is to equip parents and caregivers with the tools and knowledge to create a nurturing, educational environment for their children before they enter formal schooling.

We provide a range of services, including:

• Home Visiting Services: One-on-one support to help parents create stimulating home environments.
• Parent Education and Workshops: Empowering parents with resources to engage meaningfully with their children.
• Child Development Assessments: Helping families understand and support their children's developmental milestones.
• Community Outreach: Partnering with local organizations and businesses to extend our reach and impact.

By focusing on early childhood development, we help children build cognitive, social, and emotional skills that set the foundation for academic success. We also empower parents to foster positive family dynamics, creating stronger, healthier communities.

Over the past year, the program has supported over 36 families and 45 children, making a measurable difference in Lexington. With the funds we raise, we plan to expand our educational materials, provide more resources for families, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the program.

Our vision is to create equal opportunities for all children, ensuring they enter school with the skills and confidence to succeed. By improving family well-being and supporting child development, we aim to break generational cycles of poverty and build a brighter, more equitable future for our community.
