This year on Giving Tuesday, the Thunder wheelchair basketball team is asking for your support to help raise funds for their upcoming season!

The San Jose Thunder team was developed 4 years ago to provide adults with physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in wheelchair basketball. Our basketball program is the only program in the San Jose area that provides these athletes the chance to come together and compete in high level basketball competition.

The players and coach work hard at practice, during games and tournaments to hone their skills to compete in a highly competitive Northern CA wheelchair basketball league.   Typically the Thunder compete in 2  local tournaments a year, but their goal is to raise funding to expand that to at least 3 tournaments a year. Funds would also support the Thunder to host their own tournament in 2020.

Each year, the players are expected to cover the costs of equipment, practice gym fees, transportation, and additional expenses. These fees add up to become quite expensive. Any donation, small or large, would be greatly appreciated and accepted.   100% of your donation will be given directly to the Thunder team to help make their season a success.         All donations are tax deductible.

The Thunder team is affiliated with Far West Wheelchair Athletic Association, a non-profit organization that provides adaptive sports programs to individuals with disabilities.
