Love Angkor Wat
Ran with 9000 runners in the 80 degree heat which became closer to 90 at the end. I saw lots of dogs, monkeys, wild pigs, 2 feet centipede, elephants, temples, and received lots of high-fives from kids. I had so much fun that I am doing it again next year! Who wants to join me?!!
I run for those that can't.
(All funds less razoo fees go directly to the nonprofit)
On December 4, 2016, I will be running the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon to raise awareness of narcolepsy. Since being diagnosed with narcolepsy in college, I have had many challenges with my disability but it has not stopped me from living a healthy, happy, and full life. I was fortunate enough to be able to manage my symptoms with medication and an awesome support system . Big Thanks to my husband, family, friends, and colleagues!
And thanks to the work of Narcolepsy Network Inc, there has been better resources, research, and improvement to the quality life to people struggling with narcolepsy. For more information: www.NarcolepsyNetwork.org
Narcolepsy is a medical disorder that impacts 1 in approximately 2,000 people in the United States of America. The disease is a sleep disorder, involving irregular patterns in Rapid Eye Movement (REM) Sleep and significant disruptions of the normal sleep/wake cycle. While the cause of narcolepsy is not completely understood, current research points to a combination of genetic and environmental factors that influence the immune system.
P.S. Did I mention that I hate running and the race starts at sunrise with 80 degree heat?
