Collaboration between LEVYdance and The Inside/Outside Project for the inauguration of our new space

$210

raised by 5 people

$5,000 goal

“So close yet so far”,  is a collaboration between the Inside/Outside Project and LEVYdance presented in partnership with Intersection for the Arts, featuring visual artist Stephanie Potter Corwin’s “Murmurations” and live performances of LEVYdance’s upcoming production “Fluid Echoes” in the window front space of 460 Gough Street in Hayes Valley.

The Inside/Outside Project is a collaborative effort between The Drawing Room & Curated State. This project aims to activate windows and vacant storefront space through art and multi-disciplinary experiences; to engage new audiences while strengthening neighborhood communities through thought-provoking and relevant curation, artistic process and dialogue; and to heighten the human experience - both that of artist and audience.

Support from Grants for The Arts is enabling our first installation in Hayes Valley.

We are seeking sponsorship for the continued development and future growth of this project throughout other parts of the City as we intertwine visual and performing artists to work collaboratively in relation to the current physical and emotional human experience.

Funding will support in part artist stipends, curatorial and production fees, and enable us to purchase higher quality and long lasting equipment and materials to present our work.

LEVYdance, as a 501(c)3 partner can accept donations that can further this project as it grows into a safer and more experiential world.

This partnership bridges arts-based organizations, local businesses, artists and performers in collaboration to create new works for a new world and new ways of thinking and engaging.

"Murmurations" is a series of ‘collective self-portraits’: abstract visualizations inspired by flocking patterns found in nature. Comprised entirely of selfies, the series explores how social media is influencing behavior and the large-scale patterns that emerge in society despite an emphasis on individualism.
