We’d like to invite you to join us in SoftBank Group’s Doing Our Part charity drive which seeks to address some of the greatest needs our communities are confronting right now.

The economic devastation of the coronavirus pandemic and the collective outrage over the brutal murder of George Floyd has created a moment with the potential for fundamental change. Food banks are struggling to keep up with increasing demand for help. Social justice and service organizations that are advancing the fight against racial inequality, delivering critical legal support, and educating promising youth throughout our communities need our support now more than ever. As you know, Marcelo Claure recently announced the Opportunity Growth Fund which invests only in companies led by founders and entrepreneurs of color. In that announcement he called on us to donate “…whether it’s George Floyd’s memorial fund, a legal aid fund, or one of the hundreds of nonprofit organizations that are working to eradicate discrimination”.

In answer to that call, our Legal and Compliance teams have started a charity drive with our strategic legal services providers to help feed the hungry and support legal and social services to address injustice and inequality. We aim to raise over $1,000,000 in direct donations to selected charities and we invite you to join us.

We chose this drive to address the most pressing problems in the communities where we live and work—hunger, legal and social services. SoftBank Group will donate $100,000 directly and we have asked our legal service providers to commit to specific sponsorship levels ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 to support our drive.

If you are making a donation of $25,000 or more, please contact Laura Roias laura.roias@softbank.com for instructions on how to wire funds to Second Harvest.
