The Clean Up and Tree Planting Has Begun!!!

Wow!!! Thanks to all of the incredible volunteers from UPS and Barefoot Proximity who came out to help us dig holes and plant trees this month. Together we made tremendous progress on the project and planted new sweet gum, serviceberry, redbud, and maple trees!Â
There is still much work to do and we have more volunteer events scheduled for this fall and next spring. Â
We were able to cut back the brush and collect bags of garbage and recyclables!

Spaces to Places is a comprehensive community-based workshop series in partnership with the University of Cincinnati, designed to engage and empower neighbors to enhance the physical and social character of their community. Every year we select a different neighborhood to bring together students, professionals, volunteers, and community groups for creative placemaking. Â
Help us Make A Difference In Camp Washington By Creating New Greenspace
Our 2020-21 focus neighborhood is historic Camp Washington, which has one of the lowest amounts of greenspaces and tree canopies in Cincinnati. As the city grew, the neighborhood became surrounded by railyards, manufacturers, and interstate highways with virtually no green space left for residents. Over 8% of the land in Camp Washington is vacant and less than 2% of the neighborhood is greenspace.Â
We have begun to address the inequities of vacancy and greenspace in Camp Washington by identifying three opportunities for greenspaces that will provide environmental benefits while reducing crime, blight, and increasing economic development. With your support, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful will be able to advance planning for identified sites in partnership with the community, and together we can make them a reality!
