During January 2013, as part of the WE DO Campaign, LGBT couples in seven Southern states will take action calling for marriage equality.

$23,504

raised by 137 people

$25,000 goal

The WE DO Campaign involves LGBT couples in the Southern communities where they live requesting – and being denied – marriage licenses in order to call for full equality under federal law. The WE DO Campaign will continue to grow across the South until LGBT people achieve full equality under federal law.

In January 2013, Stage 4 of the WE DO Campaign will taking place in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C. to call for full federal equality.

Can you make a gift right now to support the WE DO Campaign?

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to support everything from volunteer trainings to our Legal Fund to video production to tell our country a new story about LGBT lives in the South.

For too long, the South has been written off as unwinnable territory. We’re told we have to settle for incremental progress, with no definite timeline for full equality. But we don’t agree. We know that LGBT people and allies across the South have a crucial role to play in the effort to achieve federal equality in the areas of employment, housing and yes, marriage.

We’re a scrappy little non-profit trying to make big things happen. Stage 4 is bigger, more ambitious and, frankly, more expensive than anything we’ve ever done. Please help amplify the voices of these courageous LGBT couples as they apply for marriage licenses by giving whatever you can afford, whether it’s 10 or 500 dollars.

Launched in 2011, CSE has run three stages of the WE DO Campaign. Watch the WE DO videos to learn more!
