On April 3, 2021 Cary officially turned 150 years old!

To join in the celebration of this landmark date, Cary Players, in partnership with Dr. Katherine Loflin, Page-Walker Arts and History Center, and the Town of Cary is producing an original play that regales the story of Cary over the past 150 years.  It promises to bring some of the most well-known as well as untold stories of Cary’s history to life!

Dr. Loflin is the playwright for this original play that will be presented on the Cary Arts Center stage for at least 2 weekends, starting on September 24, 2021.   Long-time residents and families of Cary have dug through their attics and family treasures to share with Dr. Loflin pieces of Cary’s history, sometimes never publicly revealed before now.  The Friends of the Page-Walker Arts and History Center have also been invaluable partners in compiling stories, pictures, and information for the production.

Cary Players promises to make the production a spectacular stage event, leveraging  our deep roots in the theater community to bring the script alive on stage.  To accomplish this goal we also will need the community's financial support and that is the purpose of this campaign ... to elicit your help!

All donations are welcome! Specific giving levels include:

  • Producer’s Circle: $5,000+
  • Playwright’s Circle: $2,500+.
  • Director’s Circle: $1,000+
  • Friends of Cary: $250+

All donors will be acknowledged in the program.  Producer’s and Playwright’s Circles will be given early access to purchase show tickets before the general public.  Producer’s Circle will be personally acknowledged on stage prior to each performance. Remember, if you are a business owner, your donation can be made through your company so your business is acknowledged.

Please note that in addition to the play, there will be many more exciting opportunities to honor Cary’s past and excite our community about the future for Cary during the celebration this year.  You can keep up to date and get more information at www.Cary150.org.

Thank you for your financial contribution to celebrating Cary's 150 years!
