OVER 300 DONATIONS
We are humbled that over 300 individuals have made a donation to show their support for the police officers and their families in Dallas. So far we've raised nearly $20,000 to send to the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation, but we still need your help to meet our goal of $50,000. This goal will allow us to send $10,000 to each of the families who lost their loved one last week. $10,000 is in no way enough to make up for their loss, but it's a small gesture to show that they have a community across the country that stands with them. Please continue to share this campaign with your friends and family to help us meet this important goal.
We've been overwhelmed with all of the genuine and personal comments that you have shared with your contributions. We will be sharing all of your heartfelt words with the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation to share with the victim's families. In many cases, these words will be just as healing as these funds can be helpful. Thank you again for being a part of our community, and for your generosity.
Razoo is working with the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation to ensure that all funds go to the families of the fallen officers, and those wounded in this terrible tragedy.
To maximize our collective impact, Razoo will be waiving our platform fees for this campaign.
In Honor Of the Brave Fallen Officers:
On July 7, 2016, five police officers were killed and another seven injured by sniper fire in a confrontation in Dallas, Texas. In addition, one civilian was wounded and countless peaceful protesters were forced to run for their lives. The shootings occurred at the end of a peaceful protest against police killings and the deaths of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling.
At the scene of peaceful protests organized in the wake of violence which only days before stirred the nation, violence shook downtown Dallas. From numerous accounts, sniper fire erupted from multiple sources, and the result so far has been the death of at least 5 police officers and 7 more injured, as well as at least one civilian injured. We've established this fundraiser for the sole purpose of supporting the victims and their families.
"It is a heartbreaking morning to lose these [five] officers that proudly served our citizens," said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings. "To say that our police officers put their lives on the line every day is not a hyperbole, it’s a reality."
We will not respond with more anger. We can only move forward with determination for change, and love for all individuals targeted.
As an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a long track record of charitable initiatives and support programs, we intend to ensure that funds are distributed transparently and efficiently, and to work with any additional, relevant nonprofit organizations in doing so. Please lend your support to those affected by this sudden, terrible tragedy. We can make a difference together.
