Problem Statement
Animal Welfare in Africa is still not very well appreciated and as a result animal wellbeing in sub-Saharan Africa is not prioritized or observed. Poor government policies on animals and the lack of resources further impact negatively on animals. The aim of the Humane Education Project is to raise awareness of the community towards animals especially domestic (companion & food) animals, whose only reason for rearing is usually personal benefit without the dutiful responsibility of caring for them well. The project looks to improve the population attitudes towards animals beyond there societal needs but to appreciate them as sentient, and species-specific needs that they MUST provide for them to enjoy a reasonably decent life.
Project Description
Through our education officers, we carry out humane education in schools, especially public schools, and disseminate the information of compassion and duty of care through Animal Kindness Clubs. This program includes training teachers to work with the pupils in their clubs to establish community-based animal-related causes in the communities that they live in.
The team also need a car and four motorbikes, to readily access more remote areas and also improve their efficiency in the field.
In order for ALL CREATURES to increase the numbers of trained education officers allow for more coverage and communities, we seek your support through a donation. With the above issues addressed, the education team shall only need logistical support to efficiently execute the ones provided.
Outcome
- Increase awareness in the communities to debunk all the misconceptions people have on animal especially companion animals.
- Promote Humane Education through the formulation of Animal Kindness in clubs in schools and targeted communities
- Increase the number of Animal Kindness Groups in schools
- Demonstrate optimum animal welfare conditions to the community
- Improve the standards and wellbeing of animals in our target communities
