Hi - we want to tell you a little about Gary Sredzienski, an extreme swimmer known as CREEKMAN. Gary makes a charity swim every winter for the benefit of a local nonprofit organization, he's raised almost $100,000 over the last 12 years for local charities.
Many people know Gary as the accordion playing Radio Personality from WUNH. One of his biggest fans is Paul Fortin, a developmentally disabled man living at the Lafayette House. Paul would call into Gary's show every week to make requests, and recently he even got to meet Gary and Gary got to learn more about Lafayette House. This year, Gary is making his 13th annual swim to benefit the Lafayette House.
Something people don't know about Gary is that he actually bought his house in Kittery, ME because it is the absolute best swimming around anywhere (don't tell anyone). So this year he's chosen a swim route that runs the length of Spruce Creek from Kittery to the Crockett Neck Rd bridge in Barters Creek. The swim will be a little over 2 miles and weather doesn't matter because he swims in blizzards.
