Panther Mock Trial is a student organization housed in the Honors College. The team competes in trial simulations that help develop critical thinking, communications, and law-related skills. Each year, PMT competes at invitationals hosted by colleges and universities across the country to perfect their skills in preparation for the annual tournament hosted by the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA). Participation in PMT is an excellent preparation for law school. Despite the limited resources available, Team A is now ranked 123 out of over 700 teams rising from 221 two years ago. Team B competed for the first time this year and is now ranked 171! Last year PMT brought home 18 awards. Consistently attending competitions during the invitational season is vital to the success of the team. The Panther Mock Trial Club needs resources for invitational registrations, travel, and housing costs to compete and win competitions. Limited funds and fewer competitions can negatively impact their ranking and their opportunities to learn from legal education experts and their peers. Help them win for FIU.
