When I was asked to participate in fundraising for the community foundation, I volunteered because I believe in the importance of early childhood education to help our youngest community members start school off right. In my work as a pediatrician for Riley Physicians, I am constantly aware of the disparity between children who are enrolled in pre-school and those who do not have that opportunity. We should work together as a community to make our children a priority so that their future may be brighter.
Supporting and funding a program like "Thrive by Five" helps ensure that we can improve the quality of our local pre-schools and give free books and affordable preschool programs to those who need it the most. Please join me in advocating for this vital cause. Thank you!

Funding will be used to increase access to high-quality education for at-risk children and low-income families, improve quality of programs, cultivate family engagement and community partnerships, develop training opportunities for educators, and provide required community matching funds for On My Way Pre-K students.
