When considering all the avenues to help a community, the easiest way to make the biggest impact is to invest in early childhood education. There is no better way to get more bang for your buck. The math is simple: by providing free or low-cost education, you increase a child's chance of graduating from high school and becoming a contributing member of society. You also allow a family to continue to work and earn while that child is in school. Early childhood education is the silver bullet that can alleviate so many future problems. I'm honored to stand up as an early learning hero.
About the Thrive by Five Campaign:
Funding will be used to increase access to high-quality education for at-risk children and low-income families, improve quality of programs, cultivate family engagement and community partnerships, develop training opportunities for educators, and provide required community matching funds for On My Way Pre-K students.
