Anti-Semitism, worldwide, is growing at an alarming pace. According to recent F.B.I. statistics, Jews are the target of more hate crimes in the U.S.A., proportionately, than all other minority groups combined.
Throughout our history, Jews have been the scapegoat for many of society's ills, and that practice continues today. Synagogues are violently attacked by gunmen, Jews are accosted on our public streets, Jewish institutions are vandalized, Jewish schools must be guarded by armed security, and sadly, Temples on High Holidays, as well as Jewish events, are no different.
No other minority or religious group in the U.S.A. must routinely take these kinds of precautions, because no other minority or religious group is constantly under threat.
Recently, many celebrities, sports figures, and even politicians, have made their anti-Semitic sentiments known. Whether on Twitter or podcasts or at the podium during protests, they speak with impunity, and often find themselves supported rather than criticized for it.
One of the most common themes in these hateful pronouncements of anti-Semitic beliefs is the attack on Israel. Israel is portrayed, in a wholly inaccurate light, as an apartheid state whose army and border police murder Palestinians indiscriminately, and these accusations go so far as to claim that Israel harvests and sells the internal organs of Palestinian children. Several so-called "social justice" organizations have openly aligned themselves with anti-Israel groups that are funded by Hamas and Hezbollah, who in turn receive their financial backing from Iran, a country that has vowed to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. These Palestinian groups that functioning freely in the U.S.A. are partnered with terrorist groups who call for the total destruction of Israel and the complete annihilation of the Jewish people, anywhere they may live. Following the recent tragic death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, anti-Semites with a public forum stated, unequivocally, that the Israel Defense Forces teach American law enforcement officers how to kill innocent minorities. That is just the tip of the iceberg. It seems the drum beats grow louder every day, and The Holocaust of World War Two began in a very similar fashion.
The truth is, Israel is the home of Jews everywhere. With Israel's existence, Jews have a safe haven. Without Israel, it will be open season on Jews everywhere.
This is not alarmist language. Based on our history, it would just be the most recent example of our fight for survival among the masses. Jews make up under 2% of the population in the U.S.A., and less than .25% of the people on this planet. In other words, when things go sour, and we are at great risk of another genocide, it isn't unreasonable to expect that 99.75% of those we live with, all around the world, might leave us to fend for ourselves. It has happened before.
Israel keeps us safe, even from thousands of miles away. Although they are, themselves, under constant attack, they are fighting for us. With their backs to the wall, outnumbered in the Middle East 100-1, the Israel Defense Forces protect their people, and Jews in the U.S.A.
A non-profit charity called Yashar LaChayal provides many services for IDF soldiers, and by making a tax deductible contribution to this fundraising page, you can be a part of it, and show your appreciation for the young men and women of the IDF. Every penny you donate to this mighty cause will immediately be sent to the IDF through Yashar LaChayal. If you have spent any time with the IDF, as I have, then you know soldiers do not have the luxury of even buying themselves a soda and candy bar during a break. They are not paid very much when in uniform, and they have to be very careful how they spend their money.
The money raised on this page will go towards the "Warm Corner" project, which gives IDF combat soldiers a safe place to take a break from their stressful and dangerous patrols. There, they are given drinks, snacks, and even full meals at some locations. At present, 17 "Warm Corners" exist throughout Israel, and our donation will go a long, long way in making sure those facilities are stocked with supplies.
This is a good cause. By helping the IDF, we help Israel, and by helping Israel, we help to keep Jews in America safe. I can personally vouch for how good IDF personnel feel with the knowledge that Jews so far away actually care about them and we are so easily able to prove it.
Please make a contribution of any amount. It helps a lot. And please share the link to this fundraising page on your social media, and with friends and family. Together, we can make a big difference. Thank you!
