On Thursday 12/17, Professor Stan Eisenstat passed away. As a member of the Yale community for nearly 50 years, he left an extraordinary impact on the computer science department, as well as the generations of students he taught. Students will remember him as a role model who defined their experiences with computer science at Yale, sincerely caring about the success of each and every student, and his colleagues will miss the devotion to teaching he inspired as a pillar of the department.

It is impossible to convey in words the gift Professor Eisensat was to the Yale community and the special legacy he leaves behind. His family has asked the community to honor his memory by donating to a favorite charity or cause. Charities that were important to him include Columbus House, Community Soup Kitchen, Connecticut Food Bank, and Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen. The donations made to this page will be donated directly to the Connecticut Food Bank in honor of Stan Eisenstat.

Please feel free to also share memories or images of Professor Eisenstat directly to this page.
