“… to express such an all-encompassing sentiment so beautifully and precisely is a true testament to the intimate power of live theater that we’ve had to do without for far too long.” … Atlanta Journal-Constitution review of An Iliad
Theatrical Outfit is thrilled to have returned to producing live theatre again! The feeling of welcoming people back to our beautiful downtown home at the Balzer Theater – seeing artists, greeting patrons, watching our community come alive again – is impossible to describe. What a joyful way to usher in the holiday season!
Our mission to produce world class theatre that starts the conversations that matter has new, deeper meaning as we emerge from the pandemic. Our commitment to creating a compassionate community grounded in dignity, justice, and equity is more important to us now than it ever has been. We are excited to bring our building back to life and get back to this important work – to produce shows on our stage that bring people together; to develop new work that celebrates the talent in our great city through our Made in Atlanta program; to nurture young professionals through the Tom Key Arts Leadership Program; and to connect with our community through partnerships with organizations like Central Atlanta Progress, initiatives like our holiday toy drive, and programs like The Welcome Table.
As excited as we are about being back producing in our beautiful downtown home, we recognize that after times of great upheaval and change, there must be time to heal and stabilize. This is a time of rebuilding for arts organizations across the country as we re-open our doors and put artists back to work. At TO, we are proud of the choices we’ve made to keep people safe and to keep our organization stable through the pandemic, and we are committed to investing extra resources to ensure your safety while we rebuild our audience and our community. Your continued support is vital to these efforts.
This Giving Tuesday we hope you will consider making a donation to Theatrical Outfit as we welcome audiences back. Your gift will enable us to engage the talented artists of our community in our mainstage productions and new work development. It will enable us to impact our downtown community through enhanced engagement programs. It will enable us to support our safety protocols as we care for all who enter our building. And it will enable us to continue to start the conversations that matter with excellent, thought-provoking, meaningful theatre on our stage.
We can't wait to see you at the theatre in 2022!
