Timberlake is a fighter!
We got a quick update last night that Timberlake was eating well, which made the vet happy. He tested positive for Ehrlichia, which is a tick borne disease. Â It can cause a lot of problems if not treated soon but he's on meds for it now. He also had a lot of white blood cells in his urine which was concerning but the vet is going to do more testing and find out if he has an infection somewhere. The vet is also going to do more bloodwork this morning so I will post another update as soon as I hear from her.

Timberlake ended up at one of our shelter partners with his skin in horrible condition. He looked pitiful and we couldn't help but bring him up Friday on transport to Homeward Trails. Upon arrival, he was clearly emaciated and seemed to have very low energy, barely enough to even wag his tail as he settled into a foster home. His foster took him for routine blood work because of his condition, and the veterinarian quickly called back to tell them to take him to the emergency vet immediately.
He's in very serious condition, fighting for his life. His blood work showed very low levels of albumin. A dangerous sign that he could have kidney failure, internal bleeding, or other very serious issues. He's receiving IV fluids as the vets work rapidly to determine the cause. We're hoping this little guy can muster some strength to fight with all of his might.
We're committed to Timberlake, but we need help with his expensive treatment, including round the clock care. Please help support Timberlake in his fight for his life.
