Turkey is a lean, lanky, tan and white Chihuahua mix that has found himself in a rural Virginia shelter due to no fault of his own. After 7 years in a home where he was loved, his owner passed away and he was taken in by the owner’s daughter. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, the owner’s daughter could no longer keep him and ended up surrendering him to a rural Virginia shelter – where he is most likely confused and most likely scared. A low-resource, low-foot-traffic, high-risk shelter is no place for any dog, let alone an older dog like Turkey.
