Environmental Education for a Brighter Future!

While we have spent most of 2020 physically distant from others, it has still been a year of collaboration and community building for the Utah Society for Environmental Education. We fostered togetherness and created opportunities for our environmental education community to gather (virtually!) so that we can do the important work of ensuring that all Utahns can connect to their natural world. Environmental education fosters these connections and we need your support to create the brighter future we want. 

This year, USEE hosted multiple community calls so that environmental educators could share ideas, challenges, and successes as we navigated through the pandemic together.  We worked with educators as they developed outdoor classrooms. USEE continued to facilitate virtual professional development trainings with informal and classroom educators. And, we just hosted our 30th Annual Utah Environmental Education Conference virtually, reaching over 100 environmental educators in Utah. 

2020 has been a year of change, adaptation, and innovation. The work we are seeing inspires us to ensure that environmental education is part of our brighter future. We are hopeful as we reflect on our accomplishments this year and look to where we're headed. For USEE, this includes: 

• An updated website and refreshed logo (www.usee.org)

• A new mission and vision for our organization

• An updated strategic plan for 2021-2024 focusing on Promoting Equity, Driving Excellence & Collaboration, Encouraging Advocacy & Action, and Ensuring Sustainability for USEE

• Delivering professional development, in-person and virtually

• Working with our members and partners to advance environmental education in Utah.
