TNYA One Hour Swim 2024

Every winter, TNYA uses the national USMS One-Hour Swim Virtual Championship as an occasion to raise money for charities that do important work to support the LGBTQ+ community.  We compete to see how far we can swim in an hour, and get pledges and donations. This began at the height of the AIDS crisis, to raise money for medical bills for members of our team fighting the disease; now we work to spread the good will around. You can read below about this year's outstanding causes. 

This year we’re raising money for two important causes:

• The Alliance for Positive Change, formerly the AIDS Service Center NYC, helps New Yorkers living with HIV and other chronic health conditions get the medical care, peer support, and housing assistance they need to achieve health, happiness, and stability.
• Team New York Aquatics' Fortoul Fund provides support for LGBTQ+ New Yorkers who do not have the means to take part in aquatic activities.
