Family dog never reclaimed

After a series of challenges, Tony is hoping more than anything for a family again. This sweet 5 year old Golden mix has clearly had a family he loved before; he loves to spend time with humans, happy to curl up at their feet while they work, and loves to cuddle with young kids. It is so sad that this sweetheart, clearly a family dog, was ultimately left as a stray. He was found cold and alone in rural VA, and shelter staff hoped that his family would come to reclaim him, as he clearly was missing them, but no one ever came forward. Our hearts break for Tony and we want to do everything we can to make sure he has a happily ever after despite everything he has been through! Shelters often do not get high foot traffic, and we don’t want Tony to get passed by; we know he would be such a good fit for a family with kids, and would bring so much joy and cuddles! We want to make sure he ends up with a great family, and that this ordeal will never happen to him again. Tony deserves all of the love and affection he gives to others, and we are determined to help him find it! Please help us help Tony!
