Poor Topo- From Hoarding to Helpless

Handsome Topo came from a hoarding case in Puerto Rico. For years he was in a home with so many dogs his owner did not notice that he had a life-threatening tooth infection that ate away a large part of his jaw. He was rescued when his owner passed away from cancer. And and now has very little top jaw left and his cute little tongue hangs out. But yet, this boy has remained so sweet and loving. Imagine the pain he has been in and yet....  

After his struggles of his past we thought all was looking up for Topo. He came to the DC area, made new friends and even got to be in an amazing foster home! While Topo was under anesthesia for his neuter the veterinarian found  a hole between Topo's oral and nasal cavities that HAD to be repaired and so we did! The vet did a great job on his surgery. And we thought we could move on. But suddenly Topo took a sudden turn for the worse.

Topo began regurgitating his food and struggling to keep solids down and had to be rushed to the vet as he was lethargic and unable to eat or drink! We are still still not sure what is going on with our boy but he now needs some intensive medical exploration, another surgery and blood work.

Our boy is fighting for his life - and we don't know what he's fighting. Help Topo. His suffering NEEDS to end now.
