Tour De Lighthouse Supporting Working Bikes

This summer I will be riding my bicycle over 3,000 miles to raise money for Working Bikes, including a 200 mile solo bike trip of Michigan's northern shoreline and its lighthouses.

For many people, bicycles are a vital form of transportation that can provide them access to resources previously unavailable such as employment, education and medical care. Working Bikes is a Chicago based non-profit that gives donated bicycles new life by redistributing them as tools of empowerment in local and global communities. 

Since its inception in 1999, the amazing community of Working Bikes volunteers, staff, partners, and supporters have enabled new life for 100,000 bicycles across the globe and tens of thousands here in Chicago. They know that bicycles are the most reliable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly transportation option available, and they are working towards a world where everyone has access to bicycle transportation, whether in Africa or Chicago!
