WE ARE THE LAST AND ONLY HOPE FOR ORANGUTANS IN WEST BORNEO!

We run the only orangutan rescue and rehabilitation centre in West Borneo. Our team devotes every single day to providing the very highest standards of care to Critically Endangered orangutans in urgent need. We are currently caring for more than 100 orangutans, all victims of the illegal pet trade and deforestation.

It is incredibly costly to provide sanctuary for these orangutans, they require specialist round-the- clock care and we are committed to ensuring they have the very best welfare, allowing them to exhibit natural behaviours whilst they heal from the traumas of their pasts.

From expert veterinary treatment to food and enrichment, rescuing and rehabilitating orangutans is expensive, but of course worth it. Every single cent is used to save and transform livesâ€Ĥ

SOME OF THE LIVES WE'VE CHANGED...

BUJING: THE TOTAL TRANSFORMATION

Bujing was found chained up to the side of a house, he was being starved to the brink of death. The lack of food had stunted his growth and caused his hair to fall out, it was a heartbreaking sight. Our team immediately took action and rescued Bujing from his life of suffering. Our team gave him the nutritious food and medical attention he desperately needed and now, he is completely unrecognisable!

JAPIK: NO MORE CHAINS

Japik the orangutan spent two long years chained to a tree with nothing but a narrow wooden plank to sit on and no shelter from the hot sun or driving rain. We cut her free and gave her the urgent treatment she required. Japik was recently released into the freedom of a protected National Park where she can enjoy an abundance of fruit and plenty of lush trees to shelter herself in.

BUDI: FROM CAPTIVITY TO CANOPIESBudi was rescued from a life of misery where he was being kept in a tiny chicken cage. His body was swollen and he would cry out in pain whenever he was touched. It took weeks of round the clock care to save Budi’s life but now he is thriving in forest school and growing more independent each day.

We believe every suffering orangutan deserves a second chance. There are still more than 100 orangutans currently in our care, all of which have a long road ahead of them.

This Giving Day for Apes, please help care for them, help give them the happy ending they so desperately deserve. We cannot do it without you.

Help us transform more lives...

$10 could help provide nutritious food to help a starving orangutan.  $20 could help set an orangutan free after years spent chained or locked up.

$50 could help cover the costs of life saving medicine and veterinary supplies.

$100 could provide a climbing frame to help baby orangutans build their strength and learn to climb.

Thank you so much. With your support we can rehabilitate and release more orangutans, and give future hope for the survival of the species.
