Fundraising Goal Increase!
Since we have almost made our initial goal of $12,000 in ONE WEEK, we have decided to increase our fundraising goal to $20,000! Please consider donating today!
Take a moment and think about being outside when you were young. Maybe you went looking for water critters in a nearby creek. Maybe you took a walk into the woods to build forts and treehouses with your friends. Maybe you even stayed up late at night to watch the stars with your parents. Now consider children today that only spend 1% of their time outside. Children that don't understand the natural world that is around them or even where their food comes from. How can we expect the next generation to face tomorrow's problems without understanding today's environment?
Today I am asking you to give to EENC, an organization that supports environmental educators throughout North Carolina. These educators help sprout those natural connections with children to grow and become future environmental stewards. Like myself, environmental educators help bridge the gap for children and the outdoors in positive educational experiences and outdoor learning.
This year, we are participating in a fundraising campaign to raise $12,000 from November 20th to January 1st. These funds will go towards providing professional development and networking opportunities for educators, as well as supporting partnership for environmental education organizations on a statewide scale. As one of the newest board members to EENC, I have set my personal fundraising goal to $500. If I reach my goal, I have agreed to do something I have never before been tempted to do: a polar plunge. During our next board retreat in January, we have agreed to dip into the cold Atlantic if we meet our personal goals.
If you have had any positive experiences with the natural world and its wonder, or if you'd like to see me freeze in January, please support our mission and consider to donate.
Thank you for your support!
