Trina's treatments continue. She's battling on, but sadly, in her body's fight against this terrible virus, she lost all 5 puppies. We're heartbroken for Trina, but rooting for her to pull through!
Trina has tested positive for the deadly Parvovirus! Parvo is a highly contagious, infection disease. Even with aggressive treatment, dogs die from Parvo. The best option we have is to provide enough supportive care to manage her symptoms, and hope her poor little body can pull through.
We've rushed her to the hospital and started her treatments. We're doing everything we can. But there's a catch that makes everything even more complicated--Trina is pregnant. She is fighting not only for her life, but for the lives of her unborn puppies.
Trina is carrying 5 puppies. There's no guarantee they will make it. Parvo takes its toll and the medications can be hard on the body, but there's always hope. And if the puppies survive, they will likely need medical and treatments of their own.
Trina's life has been anything but easy. The poor girl came to us from a hoarding situation. She'd spent her life competing with other dogs for whatever scraps of food might have been tossed their way.
She'd only just started to settle in when the vomiting and diarrhea began. And now, her life is on the line.
Parvo is no easy thing. Treatment is costly, but the result--the possibility of seeing a sick dog recover and live a full and happy life--is something we are willing to fight for. We aren't ready to give up. Trina and her puppies deserve this chance. Will you help us?
