This is almost too heartbreaking to bear. These 12 sweet puppies have found themselves homeless in a cage. Their mother was tragically hit by a car and the owners decided on the spot to drop all the babies off at a rural VA shelter. At only 7 weeks old, they are far too young to be in a cold cement run. They should have been spending their last few weeks with their mama, learning about the world and how to trust people. Instead, their whole life has come crashing down. The shelter they are at is doing what they can, but there is almost no way they will be adopted out. It isn't fair that not only do they have to lose their mother, but also now live their lives behind a metal fence. Days go by and they stay penned up with just each other to keep warm. You can tell they are desperate for someone to save them! Homeward Trails rescues litters often, but a litter of 12 is a huge undertaking. They all need immediate veterinary care, as well as transportation up to the DC area. It can be done, but not without a lot of help from our amazing volunteers and sponsors. Each puppy deserves to have their life turned around. If there was ever a litter that needed a lot of help, it is them. Please help us reach our goal of rescuing all 12 of this puppies! Donations and sponsorships are the difference between a life behind bars and one full of joy.
