UCP-OC is a leader in innovative therapies that help children with disabilities reach their full potential and live a “life without limits.” The organization offers 6 comprehensive programs – all of which are delivered by therapists, caregivers, and specialists that work with children and families to ensure each child experiences the highest quality of life possible. The treatment center is currently located in Irvine, CA, but will be moving to a new state of the art facility in Santa Ana in June of 2021.

My involvement with UCP-OC started with the Steptember challenge, which is a global event where participants log their steps and raise funds to support other UCP chapters all over the world. That was followed by serving as a volunteer at UCP-OC’s annual Bike Camp, where hundreds of kids with disabilities are taught how to ride bikes.
At Stark, we focus on helping individuals achieve the highest quality of life. But the quality of life that most of us already experience is only a distant dream for some people. My experience in serving at Bike Camp was profound because I realized how much of my physical abilities are taken for granted.
That led me to join the board of UCP-OC in April of 2019. But my desire to help support such an amazing organization was increased by the birth of my daughter in April of 2020. She is a beautiful, healthy child, and my wife, Rachel, and I are beyond grateful. She will have the opportunity to do all the things that kids want to do – with no limits.
But I recognize that there are other children for whom that is not the case – and that is why I’ve chosen to support UCP-OC: because I want to help re-write the stories of kids with disabilities. And help them achieve everything they can in life.
As for why I chose to do Stark Naked in 2021… it’s first and foremost to support UCP-OC. But as an employee of Stark, I hope to consistently exemplify what we can accomplish as a company in the lives of our students. And to continue to be a student myself of the Stark Method.
