Homeward Trails has been helping cats rescued from the conflict zones in Ukraine since 2022. While these kitties are evacuated out from dangerous areas by Breaking the Chains International to a shelter in a safer part of Ukraine, their chances at finding safe, forever homes without us are next to zero. As long as they are in Ukraine, they are never truly "safe". Some of them have medical issues that cannot be addressed in Ukraine, some have lost their homes and caretakers during attacks, and others are young and just starting their lives in a war zone, never having known a stable home. With winter comes icy temperatures, power outages, and urgency to move the animals out. All are deserving of love, and you can help make their evacuation a reality for these war refugees.
Please help us raise transportation funds to bring a new group of over 20 cats and kittens to the US for adoption. To date, 62 Ukrainian cats have made the trip to the US and are now in loving homes through Homeward Trails. Many of them are even fostered for us through Crumbs & Whiskers cat cafe where everyone can meet them and adopt when they visit. These cats are all deserving of rescue, and this is only made possible by individual donations from people like you. The average transportation costs of ground transport from Central Ukraine to Romania, ground transport and veterinary paperwork in Romania, and cargo airfare to Washington, DC, is about $700 per cat. Sponsor a kitty's flight or make a donation of any amount, and please share to help these kitties travel safely to the US to find loving homes!
