The Colorado Accreta Survivors will be joining in the National Accreta Foundation’s Virtual Accreta Awareness 5k on October 24th. We are hoping to raise money to continue to research and bring awareness to this life-threatening pregnancy complication. Placenta Accreta occurs when the placenta attaches too deeply into the uterus and often grows through the uterus damaging surrounding organs. This can lead to hemorrhage at delivery. Many women, in order to survive, are required to have a hysterectomy in order to safely remove the placenta. Early detection, an accreta trained team of providers, and adequate blood supply are essential in the survival of accreta. Whether the accreta was detected early or undetected, each of these mom’s and their family endured much pain, fear, and sense of loss. All of the us run/walking the 5k are survivors or family and loved one’s of survivors. Your donation will go directly to the National Accreta Foundation for their continued efforts in raising awareness, researching, and providing support and resources for those affected by accreta.
Thank you so much for your donation,
