Utah is our home and the Utah Sierra Club is dedicated to exploring, enjoying, and protecting it for everyone!
The Utah Sierra Club is on the cusp of its 50th Anniversary in Utah! We are a powerful collective of over 40,000 grassroots changemakers working across the state to advance climate solutions, act for justice, get outdoors, and protect Utah’s public lands, air, water, and wildlife. When you donate to support the Utah Sierra Club you help to strengthen the groundswell of people and communities with the passion for forging lasting change in our state.
Celebrating A Year of Activism in Utah!
Mobilized Grassroots Activists to Protect Public Lands
Our open spaces and public lands are invaluable to our economy and to our future. We have been mobilizing volunteers and activists to participate in public comment periods, protest destruction of our National Monuments, and submitted postcards to Bureau of Land Management officials.
Partnered with new organizations
We’ve been busy building bridges with other organizations to bring everyone to the table. We’ve joined forces with organizations like Communidades Unidas and the Dine Bikeyah. The fight for our environment will only succeed if every person’s voice is heard.
Hosted a Thought-provoking Screenings of Reinventing Power
We continue to partner with organizations like the Park City Library and the Kayenta Arts Foundation to host screenings for powerful environmental cinematic features. This year, we’ve shown Reinventing Power, a moving documentary that tells the backstory of clean energy from innovation to installation. Over 50 minutes, viewers heard directly from the people whose lives were improved because of the clean energy economy.
Engaged Utah Communities and Supporters
Each month in 2018, the Utah Sierra Club has organized and hosted events like writing workshops and our flagship events like the Spring Breakfast and Fall Harvest Party. We have brought together over 2,000 supporters and volunteers!
Your Support Protects Life Outside in 2019 and Beyond
Continuing to Defend Roadless Areas
The state of Utah is in the process of petitioning the Forest Service for an exemption from the federal Roadless Rule, which threatens over 4 million acres of National Forest Service land here in the state of Utah. The Utah Sierra Club and our allies continue to defend these wild areas and ensure healthy forests and holistic ecosystem management for generations to come.
Hosting Thought-Provoking Movies and Discussions
From our monthly Wasatch Back Network socials which help to build our network and inform the community, to upcoming movie screenings on National Monument defense, and so much more -- we are building our community across Utah and empowering our members and supporters to impact change!
