We are so excited to offer a food pantry to the students at Vel Phillips. The pantry will be open to students after school and can provide a snack and/or dinner option. A variety of food options will be available and can accommodate students with housing insecurity who might only have access to a microwave. Approximately 64% of students at Vel Phillips qualify for assistance or come from low-income households. Hunger affects students' ability to learn, focus and participate in the classroom. Let's work together to reduce food insecurity for students once they leave school.
