Veruca’s Story: All Puppies Deserve a Warm Bed

I want to start off by saying I understand everyone & every animal in the world has lost something recently during these tough times, my heart goes out to all of you. My intentions are not to come off insensitive to the fact of what’s going on in the world right now, so please understand this. To shed some light, I’m thankful to be able to spend more time with my current foster dog,Veruca. My dogs bring me so much joy and during these dark times they lift up my spirits and bring a smile to my face everyday.

In February 2019, Veruca (tan & white front row center) was with her litter mates in Tunica, Mississippi. Unfortunately it’s quite common for puppies to be found living in horrible conditions like this. When Veruca and her littermates were rescued by our partners at the Tunica Humane Society, the weather was damp and the temperatures were freezing. To survive, these 5 little puppies huddled together to stay warm and food was found from whatever scraps were thrown their way on the ground. This is not a way of life for young innocent babies to live. I can only imagine how Veruca and her siblings were feeling, not knowing their next meal, cold, and scared. Resources can be far and few between for shelters down South but also for all over the world right now. Dogs and people are fighting for their lives in many different ways.

Fetching Tails Foundation has been partnering with Tunica Humane Society since day one.  Veruca joined Fetching Tails Foundation in March 2019 as a result of this long and trusting partnership. As a 501c3 rescue, Fetching Tails Foundation runs solely on donations. They cannot continue their efforts without kind donors like you.

If I can just get 20 people to donate as little as $10.
