About N Street Village

Founded 45 years ago, N Street Village is a community of empowerment and recovery for homeless and low-income women in Washington, D.C. With comprehensive services addressing both emergency and long-term needs, the Village helps women each year achieve stability and make gains in their housing, income, employment and mental health, physical health and addiction recovery.

The Village welcomes nearly 2,000 women each year and provides housing for nearly 500 women and 52 families.  Every day at least one new woman arrives at the doors of N Street Village. She might be struggling with loss of a job or loved one, addiction, mental health issues, chronic health problems or a combination of challenges. Regardless of circumstance, the Village will meet each individual woman exactly where she is on her unique journey to healing and recovery.
