Virginia Sarno

Transplant Type: Liver

What if you were living on borrowed time?

Virginia Sarno has received a second chance at life! Her journey has been a long and difficult road. She was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in 2018. Eventually, Virginia’s condition progressed into end stage liver disease, and doctors said a liver transplant was critical to her survival. Thankfully, Virginia received her gift of life in October, 14, 2020!

During this difficult time, Virginia is thankful to have the support of her family and friends. She wishes that they did not need to be so concerned about her health, but is grateful to have them by her side. Virginia looks forward to fully recovering from her transplant so that she can visit her parents, go to the beach, and just lead a normal life again, but right now, she needs your help.

Unfortunately, Virginia’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.

Although Virginia has already received her transplant, she still faces significant medical expenses related to the surgery. She will need a lifetime of follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. These medications are very costly, and they’re as important to her survival as the transplant itself.

What if your life depended on the compassion and generosity of others?

The National Foundation for Transplants is working with volunteers and supporters to help relieve the growing burden of expenses for Virginia. NFT has been assisting transplant patients with advocacy and fundraising support for more than 30 years. Your gift—of $25, $50, $100 or more—will enable The National Foundation for Transplants to provide Virginia with the financial support she desperately needs to keep her gift of life healthy.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Virginia.

If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Florida Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Virginia Sarno” in the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
