Viroqua Area Pride

Viroqua Area Pride (VAP) started in 2019, and with the help of loved ones and local volunteers it has become one of the few family-focused Pride events in the Midwest, having grown to almost 1000 attendees from the area. We have done so purely through the good graces of our sponsors, on-the-ground supporters and the venues that have stood bravely with us to host this historic event. We as organizers have never been paid, and we fill in the gaps with our own funds. But with grants and business sponsorships taking a hit, we are working extra hard to try and make the ends meet in order to bring Pride once more to the area. 

Because we NEED Pride now more than ever, for each and every person here who grew up ashamed or afraid, who was unable to be their true selves until Pride, or who didn't make it. We ALL--if we aren't overselves--know and love someone in the LGBTQIA+ community, and we ALL want them to live happy, inclusive, and safe lives.
