UPDATE: WOW! We are blown away by the generosity of our community and the speed at which we were able to reach our goal of $6,000! THANK YOU! While we have passed our qualifying threshold for the grant, we aren't there yet. The proceeds from this fundraiser will help your VSO expand the work around diversity and inclusion, particularly around accessibility of our 2020/2021 season. Your gifts make an immediate impact and are allowing us to start the work early that, fingers crossed, will be catapulted forward with the grant funding. Let's keep this going!

We have a goal of $6,000 to unlock up to $100,000 in grant funding through the "A Community Thrives" Grant Challenge from Gannett Press.

Between September 21 and October 16 any donation made online will help qualify the VSO for the "A Community Thrives" Grant, which supports nonprofits in their efforts to improve the communities within which they serve.

If awarded the grant your VSO will use the funds to focus to deepen our connection to the communities in which we serve through a multitude of projects: renewing our side-by-side Youth Orchestra concert, developing a deeper connection with the immigrant communities across the state through music, and diversifying our SymphonyKids programs for a broader relevancy.

While plans for these activities are being integrated into our work, the grant award will help the VSO kick-start this program during a time of need for our communities and musicians.

Every donation made on this site will help us qualify for the grant - and should we miss or make our $6,000 your donations will go directly to the work we're doing on the above projects.
