The 6th Annual Bob Taylor Memorial ALS Rivalry Softball Challenge by the Joe Martin ALS Foundation

My name is Greg Burson, and I have the pleasure of serving on the Joe Martin ALS Foundation (JMALSF) board of directors. I have also experienced firsthand just how impactful the foundation's work is, as my mother passed away in 2009 from ALS when I was 16. The care and compassion shown to my mother and our entire family by this foundation during that time is something that I will never forget.

Since my mother's passing, I have been able to work with the JMALSF on a variety of fundraisers, and I have been a counselor at Joe's Camp since 2019. Joe's Camp is for kids from ages 8-17 whose lives have been touched by ALS, many of whom have parents who are currently living with ALS. I cannot express how invaluable it is for these kids to meet and become friends with peers who know the struggles of ALS. This is a very rare disease, and I know that when I was a kid at that age, I felt completely alone because nobody else in my life or school could relate. Being able to provide a free camp for these kids to meet each other and escape ALS for a weekend of fun is so freeing and healing.

We would like to ask for your support in our upcoming charity softball game. By participating in or contributing to our annual softball game fundraiser, you'll be directly assisting in funding the vital programs offered by JMALSF such as homecare, caregiver training, in-home training, support groups, and more. Everything that the JMALSF does is provided at no cost.

Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of ALS patients and their loved ones, offering hope, support, and financial assistance in their journey. We deeply appreciate any donation, large or small, towards this important cause. Together, we will make a positive impact and bring us one step closer to a world without ALS.

Thank you!

Greg
